John Smith
John Smith read for his B. Juris degree at the University of Port Elizabeth and for his LLB degree at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. He thereafter commenced employment as a Public Prosecutor in Johannesburg.
He was subsequently employed by the South African Transport Services in Johannesburg as a Legal Advisor and, as a result of his involvement in the transport industry, he was offered a position with City Tramways Limited and the Tollgate Group in Cape Town.
During 1985 he was called to the Cape Bar where he practised as an Advocate. He was thereafter admitted as an Attorney and has practised at the Side Bar since 1996.
He is currently the owner of his firm and practises from the Boulevard Office Park near the center of Cape Town and mainly in the fields of criminal law, family and divorce law, deceased estates, insolvency law, company law, contract and commercial law, property law, medical malpractice suits and labour law.
He is ably assisted by Albert de Necker and certain administrative staff. He is in association with MDW Incorporated, a specialist firm of conveyancing attorneys and Robert de Rooy, a specialist commercial attorney.
